Tenino falters against Lakeside (Nine Mile) Falls

The Beavers weren’t able to maintain their early 1-0 and 3-2 cushions, while the Eagles came alive in the middle innings en route to a 10-4 win on Saturday afternoon in Montesano.

It’s the second straight loss for Tenino (2-7), which heads into spring break before facing arch rival Rochester on April 14 in what could be vital for the fourth district playoff berth out of the 1A Evergreen League.

Tenino got on the board on a wild pitch that plated Kylie Gonia in the first and retook the lead in the third on another two-out rally that featured RBI singles from Preslee Fisher and Breann Tresenriter.

Lakeside seized control thanks to a four-run top of the fourth and three more in the fifth. The Beavers had six errors in the contest and only recorded eight hits, three of them off the bat of Georgia Gore.

“Good game, just too many errors,” Beavers head coach Chris Johnson said, adding he was happy with how Gore and Tresenriter played.
