The Beavers were in prime position for a potential rally, trailing 8-6 after six innings, but Blaine responded with a seven-run seventh to comfortably triumph 15-7 at Fort Borst Park on Friday night.
Blaine’s first seven hitters reached base in the frame, including back-to-back home runs. In total, Tenino (0-2) threw just 13 pitches in that span. Chloe Grayless struck out seven in the circle for the Beavers, but allowed 14 hits and 11 earned runs.
Tenino tied the game at 4-4 thanks to an RBI double from Callie Mickelson and a run-scoring single by Kylie Gonia. Those two plus catcher Jaeleen Woodward each recorded two hits and combined for six of its seven RBIs.
The Beavers will aim for their first win of the season on Monday when they take on Elma in an Evergreen League contest.
