Tenino loses two in Medical Lake

The Tenino baseball team lost two games in Medical Lake on Wednesday, falling to Medical Lake 10-5 before losing to Naches Valley 12-9.

In the first game against Medical Lake, the Beavers and Cardinals were tied at two after three frames, but the Cardinals scored eight runs over the next three frames to pull away.

Easton Miller drove in three runs with a sacrifice fly and a two-run single, and Mason Metcalf also drove in a run with an RBI single of his own.

Against Naches Valley, Tenino scored two runs in the opening frame, but gave up six in the first two innings and found itself down 6-2. The Beavers rallied to tie the game at six in the fourth, but six Ranger runs over the fourth and fifth put the game out of reach.

Sawyer Noonan collected three hits, including two triples, drove in three runs, and scored two more, and Kellan Johnson, Jensen Werner, Brayden Bennett, and Miller also drove in a run apiece.

Tenino (1-8, 0-4 1A Evergreen) will remain in Spokane on Thursday, when it will play Chelan at Gonzaga University at 9 a.m.
