Ignited by four goals from star striker Callie Mickelson and four assists from Kyla Watson, the Beavers recorded their second consecutive blowout with a 7-0 win against the Mountain Goats on Saturday at home.
Mickelson was on the receiving end of Watson passes in the seventh and 28th minutes to open the scoring. Mickelson capped her day with goals in the 49th and 53rd minutes. Watson assisted Rayana Mustoe’s two goals in the 29th and 38th minutes.
“Kyla has always done a great job getting into dangerous situations in the field of play,” Tenino head coach Trevor Fetbrandt said. “Callie is a continuation of building on an already great resume.”
Maria Summers, whom Fetbrandt felt had “the most complete game she’s had in her prep career” also found the back of the net in the 42nd minute. Tenino (2-0) outshot Chelan 17-1 and had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Through two games, the Beavers have outscored their opponents 16-0.
“We started the game with the same level of energy as we did in the second half in game one,” Fetbrandt stated.
Tenino will host Annie Wright on Tuesday, a contest that Fetbrandt feels will be a barometer-type game to see where his girls are at. He also felt outside back Abby Robertson was stellar in the back line.
