Tenino split a pair of games in Walla Walla on Saturday, racing past Meridian for a 21-5 victory before falling short against Riverside 9-5.
In the opener against Meridian, the Beavers put together another incredible first inning. Just two days after scoring 10 runs in the opening frame in Rochester, they scored 12 against the Trojans to immediately put themselves up double-digits.
They added five more in the second, and after a scoreless third, plated four more in the fourth to clear the 20-run mark for the first time this season.
Kylie Gonia and Chloe Grayless drove in three runs apiece, Jaeleen Woodward and Preslee Fisher drove in two runs each, and four other Beavers collected an RBI.
Woodward, Gonia, and Grayless collected two hits apiece, and as a team, the Beavers drew 12 walks.
Katen Burkhardt got the win in the circle, allowing nine hits and five runs while walking two and striking out three in the five-inning complete game.
In Game 2 against Riverside, the Beavers were on the other end of a quick start, as Riverside raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first. After another run in the third and three in the fourth, the Rams led 8-0.
Tenino rallied to get back within striking distance with two in the fifth and three in the seventh, but the tying run never made it to the plate.
Gonia tallied another two hits and drove in a run, and Grayless, Georgia Gore, and Fisher each tallied a hit and drove in a run.
Tenino (4-8, 1-5 1A Evergreen) will head to Napavine for a non-league matchup on Tuesday.
