Down their only upperclassmen, the Tenino Beavers held an early lead in La Center on Wednesday, but slowed down in a 54-22 loss.
Without senior Chloe Grayless, the Beavers played a lineup of freshmen, a group that led 8-6 after a quarter.
From then on out though, they were outscored by the Wildcats 48-14.
“Our youth showed a bit,” Tenino coach Kirsi Gofinch said. “Proud of how they came out in the first half and how hard they worked and fought through the second half, even when we got down.”
Kylie Gonia finished with a team-high 15 points, while Georgia Gore added four and Alyssa Brodersen and Charley Jones both finished with two.
Tenino (1-3) will look to bounce back on Friday in Castle Rock.
