Tenino teen, 15, injured in single-car collision off U.S. 12 in Lewis County

A 15-year-old Tenino boy was injured Tuesday in a single-car collision off U.S. Highway 12 east of Mary’s Corner, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The teenager was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital following the incident. Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

According to the memo, the teenager was driving a 2022 Hyundai Elantra westbound at milepost 71 at about 1:52 p.m. when his car “drifted off the roadway to the right” and went down an embankment, before coming to rest. 



The cause of the collision was listed as “wheels off roadway.”

Troopers issued the teenager a citation and said no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.

According to the memo, no other occupants were inside the vehicle.
