A 34-year-old Tenino woman was arrested for allegedly setting fire to a dumpster in Centralia on Monday night.
She was found nearby, inside another dumpster, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Sarah M. Brown was booked in the Lewis County Jail early Tuesday morning.
She faces a possible charge of third-degree malicious mischief.
Brown, described by police as transient, was trespassed from a business in the 400 block of East Summa Street at about 10:12 p.m. Monday.
About an hour and a half later, at 11:45 p.m., police were called to Kresky Avenue and State Street, behind the Department of Licensing office, after Brown allegedly set fire to a dumpster there.
The blaze fully engulfed the dumpster, according to police.
“Sarah was located by the Riverside Fire Authority inside of a different dumpster nearby and had a torch lighter in her possession,” according to Centralia police. “The dumpster was extinguished and did not endanger any structures, brush or vehicles in the area.”
