Timberline and River Ridge squared off in a Puget Sound League girls soccer matchup between two programs on the rise, and they finished deadlocked at 1-1 at Nisqually Middle School Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The night’s two lone goals came within three minutes of one another. River Ridge junior midfielder Emily Schelling scored in the 17th minute, and Timberline senior forward Hannah Jackson was fouled in the box and secured the equalizer on a penalty kick.
Timberline recorded nine shots, with six on goal. Blazers junior goalkeeper Lola Egger posted three saves in net.
No team in Class 3A has more draws than River Ridge’s four. The Hawks (3-1-4, 1-1-1 Puget Sound League) will host Lakes at South Sound Stadium Thursday, Oct. 1, while Timberline (3-4-1, 2-0-1 PSL) will host Central Kitsap that same night.
