The Timberline softball team breezed past Lakes, tallying a season-best scoring output in a 31-2 win in five innings in Lakewood Monday.
The Blazers led 9-0 after the top of the first inning and 22-1 after the top of the second inning. Amelie Malinis, who hadn’t recorded a hit in limited plate appearances so far this season, enjoyed a breakout game, finishing 3 for 5 with five RBIs, two doubles and three runs scored.
Porsha Miller went 3 for 3 with four RBIs and three runs scored, while Brynnli Mayr drove in four runs. Sophia Rodriguez and Kayleese Dorfner each added three RBIs.
Timberline (14-4, 14-1 Puget Sound League) can clinch a Puget Sound League Nisqually Division title and a trip to the PSL championship game with a win over Peninsula (16-2, 13-1 PSL) at home in Wednesday's regular season finale.
