The Timberline baseball team is catching fire on its Pierce County road trip. The Blazers pounded Lincoln 19-2 Friday in Tacoma two days after scoring 18 against Mount Tahoma on the road.
Marley Gamble shined for Timberline again, striking out four in two no-hit innings while going 3 of 4 at the plate with two runs batted in and a triple. This output followed a 2-for-2, two-RBI day against Mount Tahoma on Wednesday.
“I thought we had good approaches at the plate today and ran the bases well,” Timberline head coach Doug LaPalm said. “Marley Gamble led the offense today and is seeing the ball well.”
The entire Blazers team saw the ball well against Lincoln, racking up seven runs in both the first and fifth innings and totaling 16 hits. Jr. San Nicolas went 2-3 with three runs batted in, Konner Smith tallied three RBIs, Blake Rickert also drove in two runs. A total of 10 Blazers registered at least one RBI.
Smith also tossed three shutout innings of relief for Timberline, striking out five.
Timberline (2-1, 2-0 Puget Sound League) will look to complete a clean sweep of its road trip Saturday at Central Kitsap and Tuesday, March 24 at Peninsula.
