Timberline senior swimmer Kayla Lambiotte enjoyed a dominant day in the pool Thursday afternoon, winning both the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle against Silas.

Lambiotte took the 200-yard freestyle title with a new best time of 2 minutes, 9.71 seconds, which was about 15 seconds faster than the second-place time. She also crushed the competition in the 500-yard freestyle, setting a new best time of 5:53.15 and winning by nearly 50 seconds.

Lambiotte made up a quarter of Timberline's second-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:55.78) and 400-yard freestyle relay (4:21.49) teams.

Silas defeated Timberline 122-54.

Timberline junior Layla Nau won the 50-yard freestyle at 27.90 seconds, and freshman Nevaeh Lewis finished second in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:42.01.

“We had a solid first away meet of the season. We had a ton of fun races and many new best times,” Timberline head coach Caleb Hegel-Linggi said. “Despite the circumstances of the team we were going against, Silas being another dominant team while having the biggest team in our league, the girls gave it their all.”

Timberline will next face Mount Tahoma and Peninsula on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Peninsula High School.
