Lacey Fire District 3 on Wednesday responded to a serious incident involving a professional tree faller working off Ruddell Road.
Firefighters and paramedics from Medic 3, Engine 31, Aid 33, and Battalion 31 arrived on scene and provided care to a patient with significant injuries.
Due to the nature of the incident, the patient was airlifted by Airlift Northwest to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment, according to Lacey Fire District 3.
“Our thoughts are with the individual and their loved ones,” Lacey Fire District 3 said in a social media post.
The department said the incident is a “reminder of the hazards present in even routine work environments and the importance of safety precautions.
