The Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association (WSVCA) released the 2025 All-State teams on Monday and while several SW Washington standouts were recognized, one was named to the top team.
Tumwater middle hitter/blocker Paige Henderson was named to the nine-player Class 2A first team. It comes after a season where the senior led the Thunderbirds to an unbeaten Evergreen Conference season and a trophy coming back to South Thurston County.
Henderson had 34 of her 59 blocks be solo plus recorded 197 kills. Also in 2A, T-Birds libero Lalie Betschart was second team all-state and three EvCo players – Tumwater’s Tove Hugus, Black Hills’ Lillian Worthen and W.F. West’s Ariana Wheaton – were honorable mention honorees.
In Class 1A, Tenino’s Katen Burkhardt – the Evergreen League MVP – snared all-state honorable mention honors.
In Class 2B, two of the top hitters in Rainier’s Allyson Ooms and Onalaska’s Emalie Jacoby were both on the second team. Ooms was the C2BL MVP and Jacoby slammed down an area-high 512 kills.
Toledo hitter Ellie Fallon and Mossyrock libero Taylor Schwartz were both all-state honorable mentions.
