The North Thurston softball team was unstoppable against Capital Monday, scoring 11 runs in the first inning and 13 in the fourth to prevail 27-2 in five innings.

Saihdee Trolson recorded four doubles and four RBIs in the victory, while her sister Syriahs Trolson drove in five runs on a two-hit day. Sara Halterman, Paige Guyer and Abigail McBride each logged four hits, and Isabella Haagen added three hits and three RBIs. Guyer struck out eight batters and only allowed one hit in five innings in the circle.

“From top to bottom, everyone contributed to the win. We worked on some new stuff today, and I like how it all worked out,” North Thurston head coach Sam Harding said. “Saihdee’s bat was on fire. She was patient and waited for a pitch to attack. It was great seeing Paige get some time in the circle, too. She came out firing on all cylinders.”

Capital’s Lexie Dura singled for the team’s only hit, and she drove in a run and scored. Davanee Weide recorded an RBI.

North Thurston (9-7, 6-6 Puget Sound League) is in the driver’s seat for the third-place spot in the PSL Nisqually Division following a River Ridge loss to Peninsula Monday. The Rams will host the Hawks (7-9, 7-7 PSL) in a crucial matchup Wednesday afternoon.

Capital (2-13, 2-11 PSL) hosts Lakes (0-13, 0-13 PSL) Wednesday.
