In her second career start, Evergreen State College center Haleigh Hanson logged a career-high 19 points as the women’s basketball team lost at home to Oregon Tech Saturday.

The Rainier High School graduate led the Geoducks in scoring and reached double figures for the first time in her career.

Both teams went back and forth in the first five minutes of the first quarter, with Oregon Tech holding a slight 13-12 lead before finishing the frame on a 12-2 run. Evergreen sliced the deficit down to seven before the Owls used another 10-0 run to take a 41-26 halftime lead. The Geoducks never led in the 29-point loss.

Hanson scored 13 of her 19 in the second half, including eight in the fourth quarter, and shot 9 of 16 throughout the game while playing a career-high 32 minutes. Yelm High School graduate Bayleigh Harder added 16 points, and both Habiba Adam and Jenna Glenzel scored 10 apiece.

Evergreen (0-15, 0-12 Cascade Collegiate Conference) will host Corban University Friday night and Bushnell University Saturday afternoon.
