In Focus: Capital grad Amanda Moll breaks collegiate record, wins NCAA pole vault title

University of Washington junior and Capital High School graduate Amanda Moll broke the collegiate outdoor women's pole vault record and won the NCAA Division I national championship at 4.84 meters (15 feet, 10.5 inches) Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
 
Moll now holds both the indoor and outdoor collegiate records. Her top jump is the best in the world this year, and her indoor national title is her first of her career.
 


Her twin sister, Hana Moll, finished second in the national competition at 4.74 meters (15 feet, 6.5 inches). The Moll sisters each have an outdoor national title on their resumés.
