The W.F. West girls tennis sent its seniors out in style on Senior Night on Thursday, sweeping Black Hills for a 6-0 victory.
“Great win for all the seniors,” W.F. West coach Megan Wellander said of her seniors: Elizabeth Mittge, Aubrey Prigmore, Eliana Alves, and Jaiden Rinta. “We are especially proud of how they carry themselves and lead our team.”
Mittge, Isabelle Casimiro, and Maddie Bradley all won their singles matches. Mittge and Casimiro both won 6-1, 6-1, while Bradley won 6-4, 6-2.
Prigmore and Alves won their doubles match, as did Khloe Sparks and Kate Mordick, and Rosa Lampert and Jaiden Rinta also won their doubles match.
Prigmore and Alves won 6-2, 6-3, Sparks and Mordick won 6-2, 6-2, and Lampert and Rinta won 6-1, 6-1.
“Each of our teams played smart tennis,” Wellander said. “Our doubles teams implemented our practice tips well in the match, doing a great job finishing at the net and being more consistent cross court. Our singles did a good job moving the balls, staying patient, and being active and ready to finish.”
W.F. West will head to Centralia for its regular-season finale, while Black Hills will host Shelton. Both of those matches are on Monday.
