Bowser nets pair of 2nd-half goals, Saint Martin’s knocks off Warner Pacific

Saint Martin’s women’s soccer head coach Scott Ford highlighted freshman Peyton Bowser back in the preseason as a player who could make an immediate impact in 2026.

It took her just two games to do just that.

The freshman forward from Temecula, California, came up clutch in her second career collegiate game Saturday. She helped bring Saint Martin’s back from a 1-0 halftime deficit with a pair of second-half goals in a 2-1 home win over Warner Pacific.

Warner Pacific’s Litzy Gonzalez found the back of the net in the 34th minute on an unassisted goal to give the Knights a 1-0 halftime lead. Saint Martin’s outshot Warner Pacific 6-4 in the first 45 minutes, however.

The Saints blitzed the Knights in the second half with an aggressive offensive approach, and Bowser scored her first career goal in the 50th minute. She took possession off of a deflection and took it the distance to tie the game.

Eight minutes later, Annika Akiona found Bowser for the go-ahead goal. Bowser totaled five shots, with three on target. Goalkeeper Sam Escobar recorded three saves in the net.

Saint Martin’s (1-1) will travel to Ellensburg to take on UC Merced on Thursday, Sept. 3 and Metro State on Saturday, Sept. 5.
