The Capital girls soccer team dropped a 1-0 contest to Silas at home on Thursday, Oct. 22, and the Cougars still have a chance to qualify for districts with one regular season game left to play.
“The girls fought tremendously to the last minute,” Capital head coach Adriana Montes said. “This is a group of girls that are very resilient. They don’t give up and keep fighting, and that is the culture of this team. Silas just got a lucky breakaway. My keeper came out, did everything she could, and my defender tried really hard to save it for the line.”
Capital (7-8, 4-6 Puget Sound League) will host Bellarmine (9-2-1, 8-2-0 PSL) on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The Cougars need a victory and a North Thurston loss to River Ridge to qualify for districts.
