For the fifth time in his prep career, Ethan Weiher secured a first place finish for the Tigers, this instance at a Class 1A Evergreen League meet in Rochester on Thursday afternoon.
Weiher’s time of 18 minutes, 16.40 seconds cleared the rest of the field comfortably. Since his sophomore year, he has pocketed at least two wins during the regular season. Centralia also had its additional four scoring runners placed inside the top-25.
Rochester’s duo of Kian Christiansen and Sawyer Ketter took third and fourth place, respectively, while Tenino had its best five runners all cross the finish line in the top-16 to place second in the team race behind Elma.
Leading the way for the Beavers were Porter Mowry (seventh) and Weston Frank (eighth); Frank registered a new PR of 20 minutes flat.
On the girls side, Centralia dominated the field with all five of its runners in the top-10. Lisel Stout, for the second meet in a row, was the Tigers top finisher at third place in a season-best time of 21:59.50.
Eva Stout took fifth, Esther Hopkins placed sixth, Evelyn Hoy was seventh and Eden Hanson finished eighth. Rochester’s best runner was Mckenzie Blankenship, ninth with a new season-best time of 25:23.50.
Tenino’s Olivia Hilton and Isabel Steketee recorded 19th and 20th place finishes, respectively.
