Reigning EvCo MVP James Morgan picked up three fouls in the first quarter, and his Black Hills teammates picked him up in an impressive collective effort as the Wolves drubbed Centralia 79-41 in Tumwater Thursday night.

Black Hills bolted in front 20-8 through the first quarter and maintained a comfortable 36-27 lead at halftime. But the Wolves put forth perhaps their best quarter of the season in the third, coming out of the locker room and outscoring Centralia 30-6. Black Hills hit four 3-pointers in the quarter, and Kendell Roberson and Quinton Morrill went to work inside the arc, as well.

Overall, the Wolves made 11 triples in the victory, with Logan Stallings providing four treys for a career-high 12 points.

“Logan has been getting spot minutes all year, but we always tell our kids that you never know when your role will change,” Black Hills head coach Jeff Gallagher said. “Logan definitely got the message and was huge off of the bench.”

Peyton Faught had four 3-pointers of his own en route to a game-high 22 points. Quinton Morrill provided 10 points, and Talon Morrill tallied eight.

Centralia was led by 10 points from Johnny Ruiz and nine points from Trevor Griffis. Braden Baine and Kadin Yeung added eight apiece.

Black Hills (9-4, 3-1 EvCo) will host Aberdeen Tuesday night, while Centralia (3-8, 1-3 EvCo) will host W.F. West in a rivalry matchup Tuesday night.
