The North Thurston volleyball team bounced back from its loss to Timberline earlier this week with a sweep (25-13, 25-9, 25-14) of River Ridge at home on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The Rams were led by Abby Losey’s 15 kills and Kaelani Adams’ 12 kills. Jazlyn Strachan tallied 16 assists, and Madison Abrahamson provided 14 assists. Maya Jaenicke contributed 12 digs and three aces.

River Ridge setter Kristina Stupina tallied 10 assists, 10 digs and two aces, while Ny’zriae Collins-Howard posted eight kills, nine digs, three blocks and two aces. Aspen Lamar produced seven kills and 13 digs.

“Overall, in all three sets, we played some really great volleyball with several long rallies where we were able to hang with a tough Thurston team,” River Ridge head coach Arianna Jacobson said. “We put up some big blocks from Nancy Ritter, Sa’riyah Nance and Ny (Collins-Howard), and we had a standout game from Sofia Lie, Aspen Lamar, Ny and Kristina on defense.”

North Thurston (8-2, 5-1 Puget Sound League) will travel to Lakes (6-2, 4-1 PSL) in a key matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 13. River Ridge (2-9, 1-5 PSL) will look to snap an eight-game losing streak on Tuesday when it hosts Capital (5-5, 3-3 PSL).
