The North Thurston girls soccer team picked up its first win since Sept. 8 with an 8-0 blowout of Lincoln at South Sound Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

North Thurston only needed one half to pile up a season-high six goals, and the Rams added two more in the second half to enact the mercy rule by the 66th minute.

Sophomore Lillianna Bonnin opened the scoring with a goal in the fourth minute, and freshman Aarya Bougher earned a first-half brace with goals in the sixth and 13th minutes. Molly Littauer found the back of the net in the 21st minute off an assist from Bougher, and Bonnin tallied her second goal in the 33rd minute.

Elaina Brannon capped off the first-half outburst with a goal just before the halftime whistle. Chelsee Watlington and Londyn McKenzie scored in the 64th and 66th minutes, respectively.

North Thurston outshot Lincoln 29-1.

“Good game for our ladies tonight. I’m hopeful that they take some confidence from this and we bring that with us to Timberline on Thursday,” North Thurston assistant coach Tristan Glaser said. “It’s really important that we are ready to go from the start in a rivalry game, especially when we are looking to push further up the standings.”

North Thurston (2-4-2, 1-3-1 Puget Sound League) will visit Timberline (3-5-2, 2-1-2 PSL) on Thursday, Oct. 8.
