Black Hills tops Evergreen in overtime

Black Hills watched a second-half lead disappear against Evergreen at home on Tuesday, but the Wolves were able to right the ship and top the Plainsmen 82-75 in overtime.

The Wolves exploded in the second quarter for 28 points to build a 12-point halftime lead, but Evergreen battled back to get within three heading into the fourth, and they tied it at 67 to force the extra frame.

In the OT period, Peyton Fought scored nine of his 19 points, Quinton Morrill scored four, and James Morgan scored two to give the Wolves the edge and put them over the top.

Morgan finished with a game-high 25, Talon Morrill added 13, and Kenny Bell scored 11. Quinton Morrill added 10, and Kendall Roberson logged two.

Black Hills (3-2) has now won three straight after losing the first two games of its season, and it will look to make it four in a row in Montesano on Monday.
