After a tight first half, the South Puget Sound Community College men’s basketball team fell to No. 3 Green River 92-82 in NWAC West Conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 28, on the road.
Jeremiah Lewis led the Clippers with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Elijah Mack scored 17 points, as the Clippers only trailed 37-34 at halftime. The Gators surged in the second half, outscoring SPSCC by seven points after the break.
The Clippers shot 49.2% from the field and 8 of 22 from the 3-point arc. Green River got to the line more, shooting 18 for 23 from the charity stripe while SPSCC scored just 10 points from free throws.
While the Clippers had the 41-28 edge in rebounds, they couldn’t overcome Green River’s 3-pointers.
SPSCC fell to 15-6 on the season and 4-2 in NWAC West Conference action, while the Gators remain atop the conference at 6-0 and 17-4 overall.
