It was a rough day at the plate for the Black Hills baseball team on Friday, as the Wolves collected just one hit as a team in a 2-0 loss to Shelton.

Elijah Simpson was incredible on the bump for the Wolves, allowing just four hits and two runs while walking two and striking out four across six innings of work, but Cooper Parkinson’s single in the top of the first was the only Black Hills hit of the game.

After that, only three other Wolves reached base, two of them via walk and another via a hit by pitch.

Shelton’s first run came in the bottom of the first on a single, and the second didn’t come until another RBI knock in the sixth. Both hits came from Cam Winans, who finished 2 for 3.

Black Hills (2-8, 0-6 2A EvCo) will return home to face Centralia on Tuesday.
