The Northwest Christian volleyball team has won four consecutive games, all on the road, with the latest coming in dominant fashion at Redeemer Christian School Monday, Oct. 5.
Northwest Christian blew out the Eagles by double digits in all three sets: 25-7, 25-9, 25-15.
“All of us coaches are so proud of these girls. Their one main goal, no matter the situation, is to work together,” Northwest Christian co-head coach Sarah Barnard said. “We have our ‘word of the day,’ and we keep going back to ‘gel.’ It doesn’t matter who is on the other side of the net. The focus is on how well we work as a team to achieve the best possible outcome.”
As has been the trend throughout the season, the Wolverines excelled from the service line with 18 aces and a 90% completion rate. Rileigh Frost tallied six aces, five of which came in the first set, and Tenlee Nonn added five.
“Rileigh was outstanding on serving. She had 18 serves during the first set, with five of those being aces,” Barnard said. “A strong, consistent serve was something she was really trying to tune up in the beginning of the season. It’s really special when the hard work you put into practice as a player pays off on game night.”
Addy Hentges led the Wolverines on offense with 13 kills and two aces, and Jess Collins posted 26 assists and two kills. Ashlynn Hutchings provided four kills, three aces and three digs.
Northwest Christian (10-3, 5-0 Sea-Tac League) is the only unbeaten team left in Sea-Tac League play. The Wolverines will finally return home on Wednesday, Oct. 7 for a non-league matchup against Tenino (4-5, 2-1 Evergreen).
