Multiple area golfers impressed in Ridgefield on Monday and Tuesday, as seven finished inside the Top 25 at the 2A District 4 Championships at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course.

Tumwater’s Jeremy Cook was the best local finisher, placing 14th with a two-day mark of 162, while Black Hills’ Kendell Roberson, Centralia’s Jamie Conzatti, and W.F. West’s Gage Wiens were all a part of a six-way tie for 15th at 163.

Because the exact number of state tournament berths will not be available until the spring, when the east side plays its season, the six golfers played a lengthy playoff to break the tie and place each golfer from 15th to 20th.

Roberson finished in 16th, Conzatti placed 19th, and Wiens took 20th.

Centralia’s Tyler Fagerness took 21st at 164, W.F. West’s Kobe Arevalo finished in a tie (that was not broken) for 22nd with 166, and Tumwater’s Liam Gustafson finished in another tie (that also wasn’t broken) at 24th with 167.

While the exact number of state spots isn’t confirmed, Centralia assistant coach Chris Thomas said that in recent years, the exact number has ranged anywhere from 16 to 22, putting all of those golfers on the state bubble.

“They grinded their way through it and gave it their best,” Thomas said. “We’re all gonna hope for the best and hope they get to go. We know that they gave it everything they had, tried their best, and had a great season. Really proud of how hard they worked to represent their schools and potentially go to the state tournament.”

Further down the leaderboard, Tumwater’s Easton Konrad finished tied for 26th at 170, and both W.F. West’s Jayce Ayers and Centralia’s Ryder Henning finished in a tie for 30th with a 171.

W.F. West’s Layton Griffith finished in 34th with a 173, Black Hills Gavin Sugarman finished 36th with a 178, and W.F. West’s Emmett Goodman carded a 179 to finish in 38th.

Tumwater’s Bradley Gilson posted a 183 to take 40th, and Centralia's Sawyer Donahue finished in 41st with a 184.

Also competing in the district tournament on Day 1 was Centralia’s Evan Haines and Paul Guthrie, W.F. West’s Cooper Brown, Black Hills’ Landon Echols, Gavin Schultz, Brody Rice, and Kodey Miller, and Tumwater’s Jacob Giger and Jack Center-Howden

The 2A Boys State Golf Tournament is set for May 18 and 19, 2027, at the Liberty Lake Golf Course.
