Ignited by four in the top-11 and their scoring five in the top-20, the Beavers were able to put up 45 points, more than enough to become league champs on Thursday afternoon at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma.
Porter Mowry was Tenino’s highest finisher in third place and Weston Frank was fifth, both guys ran under 18 minutes in the 5,000-meter race. Josiah Marzolf took ninth, Darien Nelson ran a new PR of 18:49 to place 11th and Clarke Hanna was 17th.
Rochester’s top two guys each ran new personal bests to nab top-10 placements. Kian Christiansen ran 17:50 to place fourth and Sawyer Ketter crossed the finish line in 10th with a time of 18:44.
On the girls side, the highest area finisher was Rochester’s Mckenzie Blankenship’s third place finish in just over 23 minutes. The other three Warriors placed ninth, 10th and 13th. For Tenino, Aurora Johnson ran a new PR of 24:31 to place seventh.
Elsewhere for the Beavers, Taylor Henry was 12th also in a new lifetime best of 26:14.
