River Ridge freshman Kinsley Phillips secured her 13th goal of the season with a second-half equalizer to draw with Central Kitsap 1-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Central Kitsap threw the first punch early, as Piper Steyerman found the back of the net in the ninth minute. Phillips responded in the 56th minute with a clutch goal, and the defense held strong the rest of the way.

“They fought extremely hard. Every individual fought every minute of the whole match,” River Ridge head coach Duwan Tyson said. “Both sides traded blows, and we ended the match even. I’m proud of each player and their hard work. We have a lot to work on.”

River Ridge (4-3-5, 2-3-2 Puget Sound League) has the most draws in the 3A classification. The Hawks will visit Peninsula (3-4-1, 3-2-1 PSL) on Thursday, Oct. 15.
